This role involves active participation in month-end and year-end processes, as well as facilitating external audits.
Duties/Responsibilities: Implement, maintain, and review transaction processing and accounting systems to ensure the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and the preparation of monthly financial statements. Act as a liaison with external auditors, providing necessary records and documentation to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Assist with various accounting tasks including but not limited to filing State Sales Tax Returns, Rental Tax Returns, Workmen's Compensation audits, and retirement plan functions as examples. Collaborate with the finance team to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: In-depth knowledge of accounting functions and internal controls. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and data analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or related software, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and accounting software platforms. Have an understanding of how Artificial Intelligence can improve efficiency and reliability in the accounting processes. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field desired. Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles. CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred but not required. Physical Requirements :
Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally for tasks such as filing and moving office supplies.
