The head coach is responsible for the management and oversight of the Sports Performance department. The head coach leads all personnel matters including recruitment, interviewing, selection, training, scheduling, staffing and performance management of employees with the intent of building a successful team of coaches in the Sports Performance department. Additionally, the head coach oversees the training facility including maintenance, supply and inventory management, equipment selection, and environmental services. The head coach is responsible for program and business development, community outreach, and marketing efforts. The head coach assumes responsibility for achieving all departmental targets inclusive of financial, client satisfaction, employee engagement and growth goals. The head coach operates independently and makes decisions with little to no oversight. The head coach ensures a safe and secure environment for our employees and clients and monitors and implements ongoing efforts to ensure legal compliance at our facilities.

Education Required – Bachelors' Degree in Science
Preferred – Bachelor's Degree in Science with a consideration in Kinesiology
Work Experience Required – 2 years' experience sports performance training including supervisory experience
Certifications Required –Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association,
A certification from one of the following accredited Associations:
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCS) American Council on Exercise (ACE) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) USA Weightlifting (USAW) American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Excellent leadership skills. Good judgment skills in handling difficult situations. Good organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to maintain high-energy, motivating, enthusiastic, and positive attitude. Ability to lead and mentor a staff of coaches. Ability to effectively promote collaboration and teamwork. Ability to develop program content and training techniques for sports performance Knowledge and familiarity with sports performance equipment, supplies and inventory management Ability to have personable communication with clients and anticipate their needs. Knowledge of fitness principles, basic nutrition, and health skills; with a constant drive to search to increase training knowledge. Must be able to work flexible schedule, may include weekends. Reliable transportation required, travel between locations Ability to travel throughout and between facilities/locations. Planning and controlling the budget Monitoring or implementing legal compliance measures Job Duties Supervises the daily operations of the department, facility and service line Leads all staffing and recruitment efforts including interviewing, selection, scheduling, staffing and performance management Leads department to achieve all departmental targets inclusive of financial budget, client satisfaction, employee engagement and growth goals. Develops, retains and inspires an engaged workforce. Oversees the training facility including maintenance, supply and inventory management, equipment selection, and environmental services. Develops program content and leads departmental growth and business development, community outreach, and marketing efforts. Builds relationships with colleagues, sports coaches, and athletes. Develops and trains staff to coach various work out and/or training classes/session specific to client/group needs; may include training Teams (large group), Facility (small group) and Facility (personal training). Develops and trains staff to administer strength, power, speed, agility, movement, and recovery programs and activities. Creates an exciting, high-energy atmosphere for our clients. Implements Strength & Conditioning programs for all athletes, all ages, and all sports. Develops and implements processes to tracks and report results of client progress. Ensures safety, security, and privacy for clients to ensure an exceptional customer experience. Trains staff to adapt behavior to the specific client population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. Ensures all staff maintain certifications and annual regulatory compliance testing. Other related duties as required. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only. Heavy Work – Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
