Responsibilities
• Work with individual and/or small groups of scholars• Follow educational and behavioral plans• Model appropriate behaviors and interactions• Implement academic curriculum• Function in other support capacities during non-classroom times
Requirements
• Passion for working with students and families in under-served communities• 1+ years' experience working with children in an educational setting• Associate degree in Education or 60 semester hours of college strongly preferred• High school diploma or equivalent required• ETS Parapro Assessment (a passing score of 460 is required)• Analytical ability to plan individual and group activities• Prior experience with small group instruction preferred• Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships• An aspiring educator• Great with building relationships among scholars and staff• Able to provide academics and behavioral support while modeling PLA's core values• Dedicated to ensuring every scholar has access to a high-quality education
