Your goal is to improve the design of the vehicles according to the needs of manufacturing to enable stable and ergonomic processes that are feasible for high volume manufacturing. Identify, decide, and implement technical requirements from manufacturing to influence product design. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, production control, and engineering to provide product design and product concepts according to the needs of General Assembly and Battery Assembly. Use CAD-Data-Analysis, Simulations, and virtual tests to identify risks for high volume manufacturing. Identify and implement ideas to improve product design to ensure stable assembly processes and minimal rework in series production. Ensure that all products are designed to meet assembly requirements and that product design is feasible for high volume manufacturing. Take responsibility for all communication between production planning assembly and engineering department as Single point of contact for all vehicle design related topics Use cross departmental collaboration to meet and exceed company goals and objectives in the field of design for manufacturing. Coordinating activities within the team that outline and achieve project goals. Providing instruction and guidance about required techniques and regulations. Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in greater Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

3+ years professional experience with expertise in manufacturing engineering or production planning (General Assembly or Battery Assembly), including ability to achieve stable production processes. Deep knowledge of vehicle engineering processes Bachelor's/ Master's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or equivalent Skillful at organizational navigation and cross-functional collaboration at all levels; ability to develop effective partnerships and relationships. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range: $110,000 - $130,000
