We are actively seeking candidates to fill a Full Stack Software Engineer position, supporting our foreUp product offering. foreUP has offered cloud-based technology solutions that make it easier for golf course, club, and/or pro shop managers to run and market their business. The company has steadily increased the offerings of their management suite to add efficiency and effectiveness to all course management initiatives. The integrated SaaS tools can replace all of the manual processes and one-off software commonly used by courses, including: point of sale, tee sheet management, online booking, billing, text/email marketing, kitchen services, employees, reporting, and others.
Job Overview
The Software Engineer position involves interacting with a variety of individuals internally and externally and at all levels of the organization. Candidate must be driven, organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. This position also requires in-depth knowledge of front and back-end technologies. The ideal candidate for this position has extensive front-end development experience working with JavaScript frameworks (foreUP uses Vue and Backbone) as well as back-end experience writing OO code in PHP. Experience integrating with payment gateways/providers is a big plus.
Responsibilities & Duties
Ability to work on both front end and back-end technologies
Ability to take an idea from concept to reality in an iterative and highly releasable manner
Ability to take design documents and turn them into functional code
Ability to work independently and with other members of the team, including Quality Assurance engineers
Comfortable refactoring/understanding legacy code and moving towards open standards
Comfortable with writing, editing, and maintaining unit/feature tests
Structured, disciplined approach to development, testing, and deployment.
Provide correct bug fixes
There is direct project oversight, but you are expected to take ownership of your work and your projects, establish deadlines, and communicate progress proactively
Manage time across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven, team environment.
Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
Self-management and time management are critical in this role.
Qualifications & Experience Desired A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience in a full-stack development role
Strong front-end development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (foreUP uses Vue), Backbone, HTML5, jQuery, SASS & CSS
Back-end development experience writing OO code in PHP. SQL knowledge is a big plus.
Experience integrating with payment gateways/provider is a big plus
Experience working with AWS and cloud-based web applications is a plus
Experience with Jira and Agile environments
