Join us and unearth your potential in a global company that is at the forefront of shaping the future of the mining industry.Your training, skills, and experience continuedAbout this roleThe successful candidate will have experience across multiple infrastructure platforms, business processes and architectures as well as broad knowledge of new technologies; strong ability to lead a team and technical activities with the customer; and accurately evaluate risks.Your role will consist of• This position will be directly responsible for all aspects of the design, maintenance, and support of the organization's wireless networks.• Take a lead role as Global Wireless Network architect working closely with Business Partners and Mobile Network Operators to ensure proposed solutions meet Newmont requirements.• Develop technical solutions for Wireless Network, ensuring requirements meet Newmont mobile connectivity use cases.• Develop technical requirements for device connectivity via various mobile connectivity technologies, and provide recommendations for effective use of this technology in office, and mining environments.• Create solutions to wireless connectivity, reliability, and performance issues.• Build and maintain relationships across Business Units, Partners, and Vendors.• Travel as required, both domestic and internationally. Maintain valid travel documents, allowing unrestricted travel to and from USA.The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.Your training, skills, and experience checklistKnowledge:• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science.• Possessing active certifications: CCIE Wireless, Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE), Cisco Enterprise Wireless certifications is a strong plus.Experience:• 10+ years of experience in specification, design, development, and deployment of digital wireless networks and communication systems both in office environments as well as outdoors.• Expert understanding of Cisco Wireless Network architecture, design, configuration, and operations is required• Have extensive practical knowledge of switching and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP).• Solid understanding of general Network and Security fundamentals as well as Cisco ISE for authentication.• Device and network performance analysis and troubleshooting skills• Knowledge of 802.11 standards, CAPWAP, Cisco WLC; be able to use tools such as Cisco DNA Center, AirMagnet Spectrum, Ekahau Pro, or other Survey and RF tools, as well as location services.• Strong oral and written communication skills.• Ability to lead technical discussions (internally and externally with vendors).• Demonstrated technical success in a fast paced, results-oriented engineering environment.• Ability to work independently, and mentor others.Your training, skills, and experience continuedPreferred Experience:Experience working for a Global multi-national corporation Large-scale wireless design tailored for availability and performance. Experience with VoIP or VoLTE. Exposure to mining specific wireless technologies, applications, and tools. Skills and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, previous leadership, management and supervisory experience, and the ability to achieve results through others. Self-driven individual focused on service with strong skills for issue resolution Adept at managing teams of employees and vendors in a matrix environment and from multiple cultures. Ability to identify problems, make decisions, create solutions, and take action. Highly self-motivated and directed with an attention to detail and a strong customer service orientation. Influences business through improved understanding of technology issues, balances competing priorities within business groups and across IT functional groups. Working conditions and locationThe position is located in the Denver Office with flexibility within Newmont's footprint in the USPosition may be required to travel to and assist other domestic and international sites.We understand no candidate will meet every single desired qualification. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
