Sequoia Waste Solutions is seeking an Accountant for our headquarters near downtown Pittsburgh, PA. This position will be responsible for leveraging our proprietary technology, which automatically handles the vast majority of a growing number of accounts payable and receivable processes, to provide the most accurate and transparent reporting in the industry. You will be interacting with our growing client base in regards to transactions within their account, as well as reconciling accounts within the general ledger.
Working within the Sequoia team is an opportunity to use a growing number of automated systems to accurately audit and process large volumes of data with a small, driven team of individuals. You'll have the opportunity to perform meaningful analytics on our data, and likely spot the next trend for our Operations Team to action on and Sales team to prioritize with our vendors or customers.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years Accounting experience. Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities. Advanced skills in MS Excel. You should be comfortable working without needing to touch your mouse/trackpad. Successful candidates are those who seek to thrive in an environment of operational excellence and accountability. Experience with Microsoft GP 2013/2015 preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor our automated vendor invoice data extraction processes and handle exceptions where applicable. Interact with our payment auditing software, which validates each charge on a vendor invoice against a contract, and manage exceptions when they occur. Send approved charges to customers based off of the output of the line item audit. Track and apply customer payments. Manage vendor payments. Maintain customer and vendor records. Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. Support day to day accounting functions and processes.
