Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health/Mental Health Unit as a Night Shift RN. In this role, you will provide specialized care to patients with mental health disorders and behavioral health needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in psychiatric nursing and a strong commitment to patient safety and well-being.
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with mental health disorders. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by psychiatrists and healthcare providers. Monitor patient behavior and vital signs, and intervene as necessary to ensure patient safety. Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. Facilitate group therapy sessions and individual counseling sessions as needed. Collaborate with social workers, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to coordinate care and treatment plans. Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff in the behavioral health unit. Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Minimum of one year of experience in psychiatric nursing or behavioral health nursing preferred. Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHN) or willingness to obtain certification within one year of hire. BLS certification required. Strong assessment and crisis intervention skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
