Position Information: 3rd shift hours are Sunday-Thursday 10PM-6:30AM Benefits available on Day 1. Job Summary:
The Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) in Hodges, SC has an opening for a Furnace Operator on 3rd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for charge make-up and delivery of iron. You will also set, adjust, and operate controls of one or more induction or arc furnaces to melt metal for casting purposes.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Operates control station to monitor and control melting station Analyzes control signals Controls melting operations Detects deviations and initiates corrective action Basic Qualifications: At least 3 months of manufacturing or production experience Must learn or understand basic gray/ductile iron charge make-up to produce iron that meets required specifications Verbal and written communication skills Top candidates will also have: Experience in iron pouring, ladle repair, furnace charging and furnace operation Problem solving and decision-making Math skills Please frequently check the email associated with your application, including the junk/spam folder, as this is the primary correspondence method.
