Job Summary The Background Studies Division (BGS) in the Office of Inspector General is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our enterprise project management office. This position leverages extensive planning and project management knowledge to initiate, lead, coordinate, and execute various work streams of substantially complex background study processes, systems, operations, and Customer Relations Management (CRM).
This position will collaborate with and manage the expectations of internal and external stakeholders while monitoring project progress against deadlines. The incumbent will be responsible for project delivery through management of project related activities and resources that are associated with DHS' statewide background study system.
Responsibilities include:
Develops and implements full-scale enterprise projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders. Determines and defines project/program goals, objectives, and resource requirements. Establishes project/program standards, methods, policies, and procedures. Coordinates and collaborates with multiple stakeholders involved or impacted by projects/programs Monitors and evaluates project/program effectiveness. Manages and monitors project budget. Investigates and responds to inquiries from project stakeholders. Analyze data and trends; prepare regular reports that communicate progress and status of projects to stakeholders. Ensures projects' adherence to state/federal laws, rules, regulatory compliance, and quality standards. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Three years professional experience in the following areas:
Experience must demonstrate:
Expertise in Project Management, and/or Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) methods, principles, techniques, and practices. Strong written and oral communication, proficient to deliver project progress, deliverables and outcomes using methods such as presentations and correspondence to internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in using computers/software applications, including collaborative platforms such as SharePoint, WebEx; and Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access. Experience managing the planning, coordinating, and implementing large scale projects. Knowledge of legislative process and government structure. Ensuring adherence with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Ability to establish and foster excellent working relationships with state employees and public stakeholders. High level of organization with the ability to multi-task, execute assignments, and projects against deadlines. Ability to analyze complex data and problem solve Ability to work in environments with changing priorities Knowledge of Federal and State practices, policies, and procedures Ability to maintain a structured project budget Knowledge of principles and practices associated with assigned regulatory guidelines and compliance Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures Additional Requirements To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
