Overview:Our client, a publicly listed uranium company, is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead the development and construction of a new uranium mine in Africa. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale mining projects, particularly in the uranium sector, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project from construction to production.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic direction and leadership to the project team, ensuring project objectives are met within budget and on schedule;Oversee the development and implementation of project plans, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling;Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and regulatory bodies;Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards;Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as necessary;Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting;Provide regular progress updates to executive management and stakeholders.Requirements:Relevant Tertiary Degree University Qualification;Proven track record in managing large-scale mining projects, particularly in the uranium sector (advantageous);Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members;Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities;Commitment to relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.This is an exciting opportunity to lead the construction of a large scale uranium project holding a multi-decade mine life.
