JOB OVERVIEW: Are you a mission-driven, service-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a dynamic and personable communications professional to facilitate essential operations for an expanding radio network. This person will coordinate and manage all aspects of programming, while being a key interface with other departments such as marketing, underwriting, development, and engineering.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs automation logging functions for all ICRN markets.Serves as producer/advisor for ICRN programs as assigned.Creates/collaborates on all bumpers and imaging; on-air, web, Facebook.Schedules, edits, and engineers interviews.Records off-site audio for 'on the street' segments (i.e. school prayers, movie premiers, conferences, etc.)Operates board for local shows, remotes, and pledge drives.Keeps all elements fresh in a constant, timely manner. Organizes and archives digital audio and freshens all produced audio.Oversees the quality, quick turnaround, and overall signature sound of on-air production for ICRN.Edits pre-produced segments focusing on promoting listening throughout the day.Archives and edits phoners, segments, and interviews on a daily basis for scheduling by Program Director for later airing as well as uploading to the webpage and mobile app.Provides back-up on Morning Show, as well as various other local shows.As an on-duty operator performs transmitter readings and Weekly EAS tests when present at station and remotely, when required on a back-up basis.In collaboration with the Program Director, performs basic troubleshooting tasks in relationship to keeping programming on the air during normal operating hours of the station. Serves as backup to the Program Director during non-business hours.Assists in production, writing and recording underwriting spots and station promos, etc.Assists in ripping and dubbing weekly shows, vignettes and features that run each week.Help answer the front desk phone and cover reception area as needed.Other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS:Respects and supports the mission of the station, which is to proclaim the Gospel message as well as the truths, traditions, and beauty of the Catholic Church.Must be attuned to what is happening within the five dioceses being served and understand what is of importance to our listening audience.Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done in a timely fashion.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.At least 3 years experience working in a Catholic media apostolate preferred.Technical knowledge of equipment used in producing radio programs.Knowledge of computers and other office equipment.Strong oral and written communication skills required.Highly organized.An understanding of the Catholic Church and the liturgical year.Ability to shoot simple video, edit it, rip audio from it, and post it.Ability to hear in your head, and in a timely fashion build from scratch, great succinct innovative topical promos generated from on-air audio, TV and/or web audio.Must thoroughly understand how to use social media correctly for the promotion of an award-winning top rated radio show. Use of Iowa Catholic Radio website, Facebook, and other social media to promote ICRN.Ability to take direction, meet deadlines, and honor commitments in a time-sensitive environment.Gets along with programming staff and understands the importance of all interdepartmental relationships.SALARY: For a full-time position, annual salary depends on experience.
