Job summary
The Engineering and Technology Maturation (ETM) Program is seeking a Program Manager for the Advanced Certification & Development ProgramThe PM will develop and lead a diverse technical portfolio, including weapons design and engineering activitiesThe PM will represent the LANL ACQ Program to DOE/NNSA Headquarters and participate in the national leadership of the program
Job seniority: director level and above
Responsibilities
• Develop and lead a diverse technical portfolio• Understand current needs in weapons design and engineering activities• Support integrated experiments• Work with PIs to determine future design needs• Foster advancements in physics certification and qualification efforts• Provide leadership, vision, strategic/tactical planning, execution, tracking and reporting of the ACQ Program• Collaborate with individuals and organizations to develop and execute the ACQ program plans• Represent the LANL ACQ Program to DOE/NNSA Headquarters• Serve as the primary interface with high-level external customers• Interface across the Laboratory and NW Complex, utilizing technical skills far beyond one program
Requirements
• Expertise in nuclear weapon's science and engineering• Strong understanding and/or experience in weapons design, qualification, and certification• Advanced experience in leadership and management of technical programs• Ability to set priorities and make decisions• Ability to facilitate successful teamwork and consensus building• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline• At least 12 years of related experience• Advanced degree preferred• Previous experience as program manager and/or PMP Certification desired• Demonstrated scientific record through peer-reviewed publications desired• Experience working effectively with DOE/NNSA personnel in Washington DC desired• Experience with the theoretical, experimental, and computational elements of the LANL weapons program desired• Active Q Clearance desired
