ABOUT THE ROLE Amsted Automotive Group, Means TransForm Products, Sterling Heights is seeking an Engineering Program Manager who will be responsible for quoting the cost of tooling, and machinery, and following through on the new projects and engineering changes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Serve in the capacity of Customer Representative Generate cost quotes of new parts, tooling, and machinery Generate cost quotes of engineering changes Coordinate and track engineering changes and prototype parts Assist in the launch of tooling and machinery programs Lead APQP Process for new programs or program changes, maintain timeliness and open issues Review and direct CAD/blueprint proposal drawings and changes Review, direct the change of tooling drawings Work with manufacturing and quality departments to improve processes, part quality and efficiency Customer interface Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles Support the Company's Goals and Objectives Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bachelor's degree and/or minimum 5 years of work experience in tooling, manufacturing, and engineering AIAG Core Tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Power Point Understanding of stamping and manufacturing processes and systems Understand and be able to read CAD and blue print drawings GD+T knowledge WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU Employee Stock Ownership Plan Incentive Bonus Medical, Vision, Dental Prescription Drug Plan 401K Paid Vacation & Holidays Short-Term Disability Tuition Reimbursement Health and Wellness Reimbursement Employee Recognition Discount Programs WHAT ELSE YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW Must be able to work with minimal supervision: self-starter Collaboration Skills Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, suppliers and customers Meticulous attention to detail Organized and efficient, with extensive multi-tasking and project management abilities Personal Effectiveness/Credibility Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria Experience Required 5 year(s): Program Management Education Preferred Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field Bachelors or better in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related field See job description
