Join our professional team today. JOB SUMMARY : Provides leadership and supervision of Mental Health Technicians and ensures the performance thereof in accordance with clear expectations and goals. Participates in the development and implementation of acute and residential behavioral programs. Evaluate the performance of staff Mental Health Technicians providing feedback and mentoring, contributing to staff professional development, interviewing, and hiring Mental Health Technicians, and maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies. Serves as a representative and promote the best interests of their staff and the patients that they care for. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, a staff person must be able to perform each of these essential duties satisfactorily. 1. Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, procedures, and work standards.
2. Organizes, assigns, directs, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned staff and/or an interdisciplinary team.
3. Participates in the selection of personnel and provides for their training and professional development.
4. Oversees the day-to-day treatment administered and operations of resident and patient care.
5. May accept report of previous shift to ensure that all proper procedures were followed.
6. Develops statistical information and analyzes data for special projects; makes recommendations for improvements to enhance services for the hospital.
7. Assists in designing and implementing new staff orientation for Mental Health Technicians.
8. Assures that all shifts are covered and collaborates with the Director of Nursing to fill vacant shifts.
9. Assist the Director of Nursing with compliance in all aspects of acute and residential care.
10. Assures that patient and employee safety are respected.
11. Assures that all patient's rights are respected.

13. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, reporting any known or suspected violations to his/her supervisor or through other means identified in company policy.
14. Consistently meets facility and regulatory training requirements by attending all mandatory meetings and staff training sessions as required
15. Communicates throughout the shift with the Executive Director, Director of Nursing, Leadership on call, nursing department and therapists regarding patient and staff matters.
16. Provides supervision to Mental Health Technicians to ensure care of patients in a manner that considers safety, patients' rights, and comfort. Maintains confidentiality and respects cultural and religious differences.
17. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, reporting any known or suspected violations to his/her supervisor or through other means identified in company policy.
18. Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following proper restraint technique guidelines, and displaying neutral emotions.
19. Consistently meets facility and regulatory training requirements by attending all mandatory meetings and staff training sessions as required.
20. Other duties deemed necessary by the Administrator or Director of Nursing WORKDAYS/HOURS: Work hours to meet the needs of the Nursing and Psych Tech departments. May work weekends and evenings to provide continuity of communication or assist in crisis situations. The Program Manager must be able to flex schedule to meet Milieu needs.
Weekend availability and Administrator On-Call rotation is required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:  LPN with behavioral health experience. Required: BS Social work or associated subject matter with behavioral health experience.   LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy/procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and document client behavior. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of an organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to act and take steps to solve or settle problems and issues. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally be required to physically restrain clients, using authorized restraint procedures as a last resort for protection of client and staff. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is a behavioral healthcare setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to clients who may ask inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable personal behaviors, use profanity and sexually explicit phrases, make insulting remarks or threats regarding appearance, age, sex, or race, and exhibit defiance, dishonesty, and assaultive or self-destructive behaviors. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be subject to occasional local travel as required by facility needs.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
