PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The New Braunfels Youth Collaborative's (NBYC) mission is to inspire and uplift the next generation by providing dynamic and inclusive out-of-school time activities and resources to teens.

As a 501(c)3, non-profit organization serving 12- to 18-year-olds in 6th – 12th grade, the NBYC is committed to nurturing the potential of young minds, fostering personal growth, and creating a well-rounded out-of-school experience.

At the New Braunfels Youth Collaborative, we are building a bridge between school and home through the creation of the Mill Street Youth Center. A safe and supportive space, the Center will welcome all middle school and high school-aged youth in New Braunfels during their out-of-school time (after school, weekends, school holidays, summer).

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and operation of programming at the Mill Street Youth Center; and assures that safe and appropriate programs are provided for community youth. This position will work evenings and weekends dependent on program schedules.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following duties

Oversees and ensures high-quality of all programs at the Mill Street Youth Center.Build and maintain a high-quality program portfolio that includes after school, daytime, weekend, and school break programs.Assist in developing, and implementing, effective teen recruitment and retention strategies for programs.Manages the program staff and activities to meet community needs; evaluates and analyzes issues, recommends and implements solutions; provides leadership to assure that teen programs are in alignment with the NBYC's strategic objectives and within budget constraints.Serves as liaison with parents, collaborators, volunteers, and visitors to display the site and the program positively.Plans and manages resource allocations; assures efficient operations and cost-effective practices; analysis and reporting of operational, budget, and financial data; analyzes future needs and forecasts resource requirements.Analyzes community needs, and develops plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to deliver youth programs and services effectively and efficiently.Responsible for distribution, collection and evaluation of program satisfaction surveys, participant feedback and program data. Draft recommendations for enhancements to programs, services, and facilities.Develops and maintains a high performing team through relevant and effective coaching, training, performance management, planning and staffing decisions.Oversees the hiring, supervision & evaluation of program staff (full time and part time).Performs other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree; AND five years' experience managing youth/teen/recreation, after-school, education or community programs with three (3) years supervisory experience required.; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Licenses or Certifications:·

Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.·

First Aid and CPR certifications are required and can be obtained within six months of hiring.

Required Knowledge of:·

Principals of Social, Emotional, Learning (SEL), Trauma Informed Care and/or Positive Youth Development.·

Familiarity with quality criteria for after school programs.·

Familiarity with youth development principles for middle/high school aged youth.·

Facility organization, operations, policies, and procedures.·

Best practices for maintenance and operation of education, recreation, and/or fitness facilities.·

Strong communication skills.·

Program planning, development, and evaluation practices for youth program services.·

Development trends in youth programs.·

Principles and practices of administrative management, fiscal management, supervisory skills and program administration.·

Local community resources and regional community services programs.

Required Skill in:·

Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with program partners.·

Supervising staff, and delegating tasks and authority.·

Assessing youth/teen needs and developing programs to equip students for success.·

Collecting data, preparing special reports, and effectively presenting program information and outcomes.·

Managing expenses and revenues to achieve a targeted goal.·

Monitoring operations and assuring programs are conducted in a safe and appropriate manner.·

Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.·

Operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:·

Work is performed in a standard office environment and in recreation facilities.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:Starting pay: $65,000-75,000 (negotiable dependent upon qualifications)Additional benefits will be discussed during the interview process. NBYC is committed to providing benefits that will enhance the well-being of our staff members.
