ABOUT THE ROLE Amsted Automotive Group, Powder Metal division , is looking for a Production Manager. This position is responsible for managing the manufacturing operations for the Powdered Metal plant, by providing direction for proper allocation and most effective use of human and capital resources.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Manage and direct Off-Shift Production Managers. Establish proper staffing and machine capacity levels to drive results and ensure production goals are achieved. Identify, quantify and communicate staffing constraints to Plant Manager and HR Manager. Support production schedules by properly planning staffing and aligning with Production Control. Oversee all Operations departmental projects. Oversee training activities and document control. Support continuous improvement activity to increase efficiencies and eliminate operational waste. Support all Quality and Environmental projects, objects, policies and procedures to ensure full compliance. Ensure all employee safety and adherence to safety polices and procedures. Perform other related duties and projects as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bachelor's of Science in Manufacturing Operations or Engineering (Industrial/Manufacturing) or other degree plus relevant experience. Direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (metals machinery, fabrication, etc. preferred). Strong interpersonal and leadership skills along with well-developed writing and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills (MS Office, SAP) Must be tasked oriented, self-directed, and capable of managing change and ambiguity. Working knowledge of IATF16949 quality management system that are applicable to the respective work areas preferred. Bi-Lingual (Spanish) a plus Demonstrated ability to manage daily/weekly production tasks such as issues relating to maintenance, staffing, scheduling, and shop floor safety. Demonstrated career growth in terms of number of direct reports and complexity of handling staffing, scheduling and safety matters. Demonstrated experience related to the manufacturing processes. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems Demonstrated track record of being results driving while managing multiple priorities. Must be an individual with the highest ethical standards who is a strong communicator capable of motivating and leading individuals to perform at their best.
