Full job description Pre-Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Coordinator DEFINITION Under the supervision of the designated supervisor, the Pre-Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Coordinator is key to the administration and success of the institution's Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Programs. This vital role requires a proactive, adaptable individual adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines. The coordinator will oversee all aspects of program performance and logistics, maintaining high standards of operation and delivery.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS 1. Technical Proficiency in Project Coordination : The role demands robust technical skills in project management and coordination. Candidates must demonstrate a strong capability in planning, executing, and overseeing projects effectively.
2. Development and Operational Implementation : The coordinator is responsible for both the strategic development and practical implementation of the program's services and policies. This requires innovative thinking and the ability to turn strategic visions into operational realities.
3. Budget Development and Fiscal Oversight : Applicants need to show proficiency in budget planning and financial monitoring, ensuring that all financial operations align with the fiscal guidelines of the program and the expectations of funding bodies.
4. In-depth Knowledge of Program Area : This position demands both a broad understanding of educational and apprenticeship frameworks and a deep, detailed knowledge of the specific operational needs and strategic goals of the pre-apprenticeship/apprenticeship program.
5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities : Strong analytical skills are required to evaluate program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and solve complex problems that may arise during the program's implementation.
6. Strong Leadership and Communication Skills : The coordinator must possess strong leadership abilities to guide teams and manage projects efficiently. Excellent communication skills are also necessary for presentations and for facilitating productive discussions.
7. Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity: Understanding of culture, diversity, and inclusion concepts.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES · Oversee the daily operations of the program, ensuring all activities are executed as planned and comply with all regulatory and grant requirements.
· Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, and business partners to support program goals and expand outreach.
· Act as the primary liaison between all stakeholders, facilitating communication and ensuring alignment on program objectives and outcomes.
· Develop and monitor the program budget, ensuring financial resources are used effectively and within the funding constraints.
· Lead the recruitment and selection processes for program participants, ensuring a diverse and qualified cohort.
· Manage enrollment procedures, including verification of eligibility and preparation of participant agreements.
· Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and other educational activities, ensuring high-quality delivery and participant satisfaction.
· Provide ongoing support and guidance to instructors and trainers to promote effective teaching strategies and curriculum alignment.
· Implement evaluation strategies to monitor program effectiveness and participant progress.
· Collect and analyze data to prepare detailed reports on program outcomes, making recommendations for improvements based on empirical evidence.
· Ensure the program meets all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and adheres to standards set by accrediting bodies.
· Prepare and submit regular progress reports to funders, stakeholders, and senior management.
· Develop support mechanisms for participants, including supportive services, tutoring, and career counseling services.
· Address and resolve any issues or concerns that participants may encounter during the program.
· Regularly review and revise program components to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and participant satisfaction.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in related field
License: Valid California driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS Some travel within San Diego County.
SALARY The salary range is $68,000 - $70,000 plus health care benefits.
Duration: ASAP. The offer to hire will constitute an annual contract for employment with the continuation of the position-dependent upon performance, funding, and need.
