Postdoctoral Fellowship

The University of South Carolina is pleased to announce the LivJoy Postdoctoral Fellowship. The LivJoy Postdoctoral Fellowship is designed to support the research training of a postdoctoral researcher who is committed to advancing knowledge and improving outcomes for females with fragile X syndrome. The fellow will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, collaborate with leading experts in the field, and participate in mentored research training in scientific writing, lab management and leadership, clinical phenotyping, and research methodology. The fellow will work with faculty mentor Dr. Jessica Klusek (Communication Sciences and Disorders), along with co-faculty mentor Dr. Jane Roberts (Psychology), and their respective teams at the University of South Carolina.  The fellow must have an interest in fragile X syndrome and contribute to scientific presentations and papers relevant to females with fragile X syndrome during the fellowship. Applicants without prior experience with fragile X, but with related experience (e.g., autism, intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopment disorders, anxiety, learning disabilities, genetic syndromes) are welcome to apply. 
The fellow will be provided with annual research funds ($10k) to support pilot data collection, conference travel, and other training expenses. The LivJoy Postdoctoral Fellow will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance. 
Required qualifications:  A PhD completed by the start of the position in psychology, communication sciences and disorders, health and human development, social work, neuroscience, education, or a related field.
