First Choice Health Centers is looking for a Physician Assistant with experience working in primary healthcare. This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in delivery of direct patient care in an outpatient setting. This position is located in East Hartford, CT. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is desired.

Experience and Training :
A master's degree in physician assistant studies from an accredited program. A current license to practice as a physician assistant in the state of Connecticut. A certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). At least three year's of experience working as a physician assistant in a primary care setting, preferably in a community health center or similar environment. A commitment to serving diverse and vulnerable populations with compassion and respect. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Connecticut Controlled Substance license and DEA license BLS Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Standard Job Duties: Evaluates, assesses patient illness/injuries. Performs physical examinations, and special examinations. Takes medical histories. Develops plans of care. Provides routine and illness care. Orders medications; orders diagnostic tests; and evaluates results. Assumes responsibility for patient follow-up, coordination, and referrals to other health care providers as necessary. Maintains patient medical records. Provides patient counseling/education.
