Parent Educator

El Concilio is looking to fulfill the position of a Parent Educator for our FamilyWORKs program. This position provides intensive Family Strengthening services, to CalWorks families ONLY 0-36 months at enrollment. Home Visitation Services follow the Parents as Teachers (PAT), and Raising A Reader (RAR) curriculums, Comprehensive assessment of children and families using the ASQ and Protective Factors tools, referrals to community services, and facilitation of Parent Workshops. In addition, this position is responsible for outreach, intake and enrollment of children and families into the program. Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Parent Educator provides parent education, developmental information and family support to support parents through personal home visits to promote the healthy development of children from pregnancy to kindergarten.

Requirements: Valid Driver's License Background Check Professional Reference Check Health Screening/Immunizations Qualifications: An A.A in sociology with 1-2 years of experience working with family and children is highly preferred; P.A.T certification is highly preferred; 3-5 years of experience in a similar work capacity is required in lieu of a degree. Bilingual - Spanish is highly preferred.
