Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross' Nevada operations.

Job Description In this position, the incumbent will continue to gain experience in the operation of DM-50 drills.
Job Responsibilities Performs pre-shift inspections, including checking for any mechanical or structural problems and documenting them using the pre-shift inspection report. Assists field mechanics with repairs when necessary. Drills an average of 120 feet or more per hour to stake depth plus or minus three feet. Prepares and maintains drilling paperwork, including pre-shift inspections, drill reports, bit/steel/sub change sheets, and sample tags. Education and Experience Previous placement as a driller III with at least 6 months to one year of experience is required. Skills Must be able to work within precise parameters, as holes must be drilled exactly to specifications. Must be cognizant of the condition of the surrounding work area and the performance of the machine being used in order to avoid dangerous situations and maintain good working condition of machinery. Requires valid driver's license. Reporting Relationships Works under the direct supervision of the Drilling/Blasting General Foreman.
