Position Summary This position will work closely with the MSU Libraries (MSUL) mail room operations and the MSUL facilities operations. The position will coordinate overlapping projects and responsibilities that are associated with and affect the operations of both teams. This position coordinates the day-to-day operations and organizes, collaborates, and communicates all the activities of the operation to both units and monitors and evaluates progress towards operational goals.
Responsibilities will include problem solving and critically thinking through logistical and complex issues while following all University and MSUL policies and procedures. Regularly pulling and lifting over 50 pounds and strenuous effort is often required.
Mailroom: Mail Processing:
Process/sort incoming mail and package deliveries Monitor deliveries through Library loading dock door Assist in checking-in all deliveries Assist in delivering internal mail to each unit Process/coordinate outgoing mail Assist in coordinating deliveries to other branches of the MSUL Driving university owned vehicle required Supply Ordering:
Supply ordering for the MSUL, as related to daily operational requests Special orders, coordinating purchases with the requestor and vendor Supply delivery to requesting staff/units Orders and organizes tools, equipment and supplies needed to complete work as related to the facilities coordination Reconciling orders through SOS and EBS Other duties as assigned
Facilities: Coordinating all services that are required through IPF Surplus and recycling Working directly with Facilities Manager and Business Manager as related to CAM Knowledge of all building projects to direct vendors as they enter through the loading dock Monitors and maintains appropriate inventory levels of equipment and supplies May coordinate activities of a student work group to accomplish assigned tasks Work with the Event Planning team to coordinate setups for scheduled meetings, classes & special events occurring in the building Working with the current Facilities team members on daily projects and tasks involving the general upkeep of the building The MSU Libraries values diversity of thought, perspective and experience and is actively committed to a culture of inclusion and respect. Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate's degree in a business-related field or in a field related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to mail room and/or building facility operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications Ability to collaborate well with others and help to foster a welcoming environment; experience with SOS and EBS systems; excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; experience directing the work of others.

Work Hours Monday – Friday: 7:00AM to 4:00PM The Libraries may occasionally ask for hours to be flexed, as business needs arise, while maintaining a work day that does not exceed 8 working hours.
