Total Compensation Estimator INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PRODUCTION SYSTEMS SERVICES/WINDOWS SERVER ADMINISTRATION **Internal advertisement for current FDLE members** POSITION SUMMARY: This is a full-time junior level technical position that reports to the Division of Information Technology Services, Bureau of Production Systems Services. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is seeking a candidate to join our Windows System Administration team as a Server Systems Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the agency's on-prem Active Directory and VMware environments. Candidates must have a thorough working knowledge of the Windows Operating Server System including roles, duties, and daily performance operations. The position also requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include:
Performing installation and Support of Windows Server system software (operating system, telecommunications, database, and other Back Office products); Configuring distributed computer systems environments with appropriate hardware, operating systems software, applications software and communications components to solve business/office problems for local and wide area networks; Consulting with customers, peers, and management to conduct informational assessments to determine business needs, and to define system requirements; Providing consulting services both internally and externally to FDLE and other state agencies; Providing support of system software through diagnosis of problems and implementation of changes to resolve problems and maintain software at the most current level; Developing and implement specialized programs/routines to supplement and enhance system software; Performing, evaluating, and maintaining FDLE Windows Server Infrastructure; and Providing professional advice and guidance relative to the effective use of information technology to support FDLE programs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems; General Knowledge of SMTP protocol-based e-mail Systems; Basic Knowledge of systems administration techniques, systems management practices specific to Distributed File Services an Active Directory server environment; Basic Knowledge of network systems and protocols; General Knowledge of Server Hardware including support and diagnostic packages; Ability to support and assist Senior Staff and DBA's to troubleshoot and maintain Microsoft SQL 2017 and 2019 RDBMS; Ability to assist in design and planning infrastructure solutions in the Windows Active Directory environment; Ability to assist in preparing program specifications; and Ability to interpret technical information relating to Windows server programs, hardware, and utilities. BASE SALARY: $47,250.00 NOTES: Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy.
