Job Summary: Assistant Coordinator - Custodial Services We are looking for an Assistant Coordinator who will inspire and support our custodial staff to provide exceptional service. Your role will involve training, supervising, and evaluating our custodial employees, as well as ensuring compliance with standards and managing custodial equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design and conduct training for new custodial hires. Assess and propose equipment needs for custodial and maintenance. Inform new custodial hires about workplace safety and policies. Communicate and demonstrate housekeeping standards and methods. Establish and maintain sustainable housekeeping standards. Set goals, observe performance, and assess custodians. Inspect custodial work to ensure quality and adherence to standards. Research and collaborate to improve housekeeping methods. Conduct performance evaluations for custodial staff. Coordinate summer cleaning programs and train summer staff. Organize district-wide custodial staff trainings. Maintain facility mapping for maintenance and upkeep. Maintain preventive maintenance standards using PM software. Direct special services teams such as paint and carpet crews. Assist in scheduling painting and carpet replacement. Recruit and hire custodial team members. Facilitate meetings with building engineers for collaboration. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications : High school diploma or GED. Strong skills in planning, training, communication, and supervision. Minimum of eight years of housekeeping and facilities equipment management experience. Minimum of five years of management experience or relevant education and experience combination. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical activities required in custodial work. Capability to work in confined spaces and at heights. Licenses/Certifications: First Class Boilers, with a chief boilers license within three years. CPO certification within one year. EPA underground tank certification preferred within one year.
