Why this job matters: Serve as an advocate and support for brokers and sales agents. Provide customer service related to Medicare & Medicaid benefits, eligibility, products and services, network, and policies to brokers and sales agents. Identify problems affecting brokers and sales agents and notify the appropriate business area to resolve issues and track resolution What you will do: Respond to broker and sales agents calls and inquiries. Educate brokers and sales agents and clearly respond to inquiries concerning products, benefits and eligibility, application statuses, or billing. Build and maintain positive relationships with brokers, retail and sales gents. Assist with retention initiatives and projects. Ensure compliance in all aspects of activities with internal policies as well as all regulatory agencies. Provide problem resolution to Brokers and Sales agents to support the sales retention efforts. Maintain records of interactions, record inquiry details and actions, and handle escalated issues. Refer unresolved issues to appropriate internal departments for additional research. Process changes to member accounts, maintain history records. Maintain updated reference materials. Perform other duties as assigned. What you need to succeed: A combination of education and related work experience Must successfully pass Customer Service Assessments Must successfully pass Medicare Certification Valid Driver's License Knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidance as it pertains to sales and marketing activities and compliance Knowledge of health insurance or managed care operations Well-developed written and verbal communications skills Ability to gather and retrieve information in an organized manner Ability to work in a fast paced call center Problem solving skills Ability to take initiative in finding solutions to difficult and/or sensitive problems Ability to research data, identify trends and recommend appropriate actions Detail oriented Ability to work successfully in a matrix environment Ability to exercise sound judgment Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders Ability to organize work efficiently to meet established time and quality standards Good organization skills Good time management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products; i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc The extras: Four or more years experience in a customer service environment Associate's degree Bi-lingual skills RI Producers License Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products; i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc Location: BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal.
