Email: We need a Mechatronics Engineer for a project in Toledo, OH. This will be first shift, typically 40 hours/week. We can get mileage but no other expenses. They will need to have a well-rounded electromechanical background. Experience with Siemens PLCs is a must, as well as strong mechanical background troubleshooting systems such as pneumatics/hydraulics. This project should run through the end of the year but could also get extended beyond that.
Mechatronics Engineer works in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications Programming, troubleshooting, and modifying Siemens S7 PLC and TIA Portal for HMI Conduct testing and debugging of hardware and software components Perform system integration and verification activities Create detailed documentation including design specifications, test plans, and reports Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary components Troubleshooting and debugging mechanical breakdowns and failures for pneumatics, hydraulics, and other mechanical functions of manufacturing equipment Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings, pneumatic/hydraulic drawings, and mechanical sequence of operations and use them to design the electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic prints as required. Improve existing mechanical and electrical/controls systems Understand safety concepts and safety requirements to ensure proper implementation during the design phase. (NFPA79, UL508) Provide accurate Bill of Materials as part of design, adhering to customer specification or documenting deviation acceptance from customer as required. Support manufacturing during the startup and integration phase. Generate machine lockout placards based on end-user specifications and best practice.
