In this crucial role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely scheduling of materials required for production, playing a key part in maintaining our manufacturing processes' smooth operation.
Key Responsibilities: Scheduling Materials: Develop and maintain schedules for material delivery, ensuring production requirements are met. Coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely material delivery. Monitor inventory levels and adjust schedules to prevent shortages or overstock situations. Ordering Headings: Manage the ordering process, including creating purchase orders and tracking their status. Ensure accurate entry and processing of order headings in the system. Collaborate with purchasing to optimize ordering practices. AS400 System Management: Utilize the AS400 system for material order input and tracking. Generate reports and analyze data to support decision-making. Maintain data integrity and accuracy within the AS400 system. Coordination and Communication: Liaise with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to align material availability with production schedules. Effectively communicate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve material-related issues. Provide regular updates on material status to relevant stakeholders. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies. Implement and maintain best practices for inventory control. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management or logistics is a plus. 3-5 years of experience as a materials handler or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Proven proficiency in using the AS400 system for inventory management. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Physical ability to lift and move materials as required. Working Conditions: This role involves working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical conditions. It may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
