Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our plywood facility in Emporia, VA.The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the Maintenance team in a batch manufacturing environment.They will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to meet objectives and drive improvement.

Responsibilities
• Prioritize employees' health and safety as a safety steward.• Accountability for employee plans and people management strategies.• Motivate and develop a team of hourly employees to improve performance.• Engage a workforce with diverse background of knowledge and experience.• Develop a culture based on the Principle Based Management Philosophy.• Maintain equipment used in the plywood manufacturing process.• Manage daily workforce to scheduled maintenance adherence.• Assist with craft identification for work orders.• Attend daily departmental down day scheduling meetings.• Support collaborative teamwork and influence others through communication skills.
Requirements
• 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience.• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.• Ability to learn various PC-based production and maintenance reporting applications.• Experience in leading improvement efforts in maintenance.• Ability to read mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings.• Analytical and field troubleshooting skills.• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems.• Willing and able to work overtime, holidays, and on-call time.• Associates Degree in engineering, industrial management, or similar discipline preferred.• Certification as a Maintenance Reliability Professional preferred.• Experience in a Wood Products manufacturing facility preferred.• Experience with manufacturing methods and continuous improvement processes preferred.• Experience using MP2 preferred.• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment or supervising jitney mechanics preferred.• Electrical experience preferred.
