Closing Date: May 18, 2024The incumbent will support maintenance work execution of the Utilities Maintenance Teams. The utility maintenance responsibilities include maintenance of RDO's 40 MW power generation stations, all camp and personal housing facilities, interior infrastructure of onsite public spaces including, industrial kitchens, public sanitation stations and restrooms, laundry facilities, flooring, etc.Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on site, and 2 weeks off siteReporting to the Team Leader Maintenance Improvement & ShutdownResponsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Manage work order backlogs for accuracy and details required to properly advance the work through the planning processScope all aspects of pre-job requirements, including parts, labor resources, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment and tooling, instructionsCoordinate with Schedulers to develop and maintain a 13-week master schedule, focusing on equipment criticality and proper work identificationMaintain a long term forecast, focusing on key equipment, components and major workCommission and decommission equipment and their maintenance programsAssist with the development and maintenance of cost forecasting, budgeting and analysisWork consistently with the tradespeople, reliability group and operations employees to create detailed work packages, especially for routine workTrack and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of our processes and systems, bringing forth visibility and continuous improvement opportunities to the Maintenance DepartmentConduct field investigations to determine how the job will be done and what materials, tools and labor will be neededSchedule the maintenance work orders and establish the general nature and timing of the jobEnsure that costs are controlled and develop long-term maintenance programs by providing cost analysis and equipment performance. Continually monitoring the service life cycle processImprove efficiency by analyzing performance and equipment histories by implementing recommendations and assisting with technical problems through coordination and management of changeEnsure the accuracy of maintenance work orders and effective documentation through review and auditing of the criteria required for a planned MWO and the work approval processAdditionally, the planner is responsible for the collection, tracking, and achievement of the Planning KPIs:Planning Backlog (hours)Trade Backlog (hours)Contractor Backlog (hours)Average age if Backlog by priority% planned work returned to planningAverage time to plan a work orderPlanning accuracy (actual versus estimated hours)Work closely with and support the Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance General Supervisors in their function within the Maintenance organizationSupport the Maintenance trades development and mentorship of the NANA shareholders through the apprenticeship programs, ensuring that apprentices are exposed to a well-rounded work loadSubstitute for other persons in Maintenance leadership roles if requestedProvide input into budget preparation and controlling costs by providing equipment repair schedules and forecasting service life attainment beyond the current yearEstablish Personal Goals & Objectives annually that align with Supervisor, Departmental and Property Goals and Objectives. (These require Supervisor approval and will be evaluated in regards to achievement during Building Strength with People coaching and mentoring review sessions)The incumbent fully understands the commitment required to effectively perform at this position, in order to achieve departmental goalsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Must be a Journeyperson Industrial Maintenance Technician or Maintenance EngineerMinimum of ten (10) years of relevant operational and maintenance experience in power generation with 3 years Maintenance Planning experience in an industrial setting, or a Maintenance Engineer (B.S.eng, Mechanical, Materials) minimum of 3 years post grad in an industrial maintenance environmentIntermediate skills and knowledge of computers utilizing Microsoft Office softwareAbility to work cooperatively with othersAbility to manage time independently with limited supervisionPossess good communication skillsCommitted to safetyAbility to train apprenticesAbout TeckSuccessful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a physical assessment, drug screen and a background check.
