Laundry P-P

2-10PM JOB SUMMARY: To collect soiled linen throughout the facility. To wash, dry, fold and redistribute clean linen. Caution should be taken in handling soiled linen to insure no blood borne pathogens are contaminating other linen. Keep washing and drying machines in good operating condition as per manufactures recommendations, limited to every day cleaning, not mechanical repair. Assure an adequate supply of linen in both front and back linen closets. Notify administrator or director of nursing of the need for replacement linen. Wash and dry resident's personal clothing, taking care of directions for cleaning on garment. Bring personal clothes to resident's rooms. Keeps laundry neat and orderly, assuring separation of clean and dirty linen.
PERFORMANCE REQUIRMENTS: Responsibility: Proper cleaning and drying of linen as well as personal clothes. Keep laundry in a clean and orderly manner.
Physical Demands: Stands, walks through out facility, turns, stoops, lifts, pushes, pulls, reaches, kneels, crouches and carries.
Special Demands: Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis. Ability to perform tasks with consideration of residents in area. Ability to work with other employees.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Ability to speak, read and write and follow simple oral and written instructions.
Training and Experience: Preferred but on-the-job training available.
Knowledge: Must be able to use common sense with linen and laundry equipment and products.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in well-lighted, ventilated room. As well as general areas of facility.
