**About the Role:
Are you someone who thrives on adventure and values building strong relationships? Our Land Solutions team is currently seeking a 1099 Land Agent. This role offers an exciting opportunity to travel across the United States, engage with landowners, and play a vital part in acquiring land for important projects. As a key liaison between our company and field operations, you will handle landowner relations, negotiations, acquisitions, and claims settlements.
**Responsibilities:
- Travel extensively (90%+) to project sites nationwide, potentially staying for multiple weeks.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with landowners, ensuring their involvement and satisfaction throughout the process.
- Negotiate and execute options, leases, and easement agreements accurately and efficiently.
- Develop and implement right-of-way strategies with minimal supervision.
- Provide regular project progress updates to the Land Solutions Manager.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the industry, client objectives, and pertinent legal and regulatory considerations.
- Utilize company tools and technology for project management and seamless communication.
- Conduct research, verify parcel ownership, and address landowner objections effectively.
- Ensure flawless execution of all agreements with precise documentation.
- Maintain proactive and transparent communication with the team.
**Qualifications:
- Active LLC required for independent contractor status.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in land acquisition for renewable energy projects or related fields such as residential, commercial, telecommunications, or oil & gas.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in overcoming objections and navigating complex situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules and remote locations.
**Additional Information:
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position and does not include benefits.
- Travel expenses will be reimbursed following company policies.
- While the location is listed as Southfield, MI, projects are nationwide.
