Responsibilities
• Operate jackhammers, drills, and other power tools• Position, join, align, and seal structural components• Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers• Signal equipment operators for alignment and movement• Spray materials through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces• Tend machines that pump concrete, grout, cement, etc.• Tend pumps, compressors, and generators• Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery and equipment• Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns• Clean and prepare construction sites, control traffic, dig trenches, compact and level earth, erect and disassemble temporary structures, load and unload materials• Mix ingredients for covering or cleaning surfaces• Follow safety regulations• Provide assistance to craft workers• Work long and flexible hours as demanded by customers• Perform additional duties as required
Requirements
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old• Good work ethic• Experience in heavy highway construction• Heavy physical effort required• Ability to work around noise, dust, heat, cold, and heavy equipment• Ability to quickly exchange ideas and receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions
