We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to improve and build new processes that support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients they serve. : The Insurance AR Specialist will review monthly receivables with follow up to resolution. Insurance contact and claim re-files when necessary. Knowledge of oncology billing reimbursement preferred, CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding knowledge required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works and/or maintains every account in the assigned AR in the 60+ day categories. Works all denials within a two-week turnaround. Documents accurate collection activity in the collection tracking notes. Evaluates status of accounts and prioritizes collection action (letters, phone calls, staff assistance). Calls on outstanding balances due from carriers in a timely manner. Responds to incoming telephone or mail inquiries in a prompt, timely manner. Completes adjustment requests on accounts with uncollectable balances and submits to Manager/Supervisor with appropriate documentation, Maintains collection logs for Payer escalations or claim projects. Advises Supervisor/Manager of any unusual collection accounts as they become delinquent or are at risk of becoming uncollectible. Prepares monthly report of assigned AR calculating and trending the percentages of aged balances. To ensure assigned ARs are maintained within defined productivity measures. Works with various internal teams to coordinate the collection of required information for proper collection activity. Working knowledge of Oncology drugs, indications and supporting documentation requirements. Ability to navigate payer obstacles delaying or denying reimbursement via call escalation and appeals when necessary. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Working knowledge of billing, HCPCS, CPT and ICD-10 coding. Previous Commercial/Medicare collections experience required. Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues, demonstrating initiative, mature judgment and customer service orientation. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills and ability to effectively present findings and recommendations. Exceptional Multi-tasking, organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical skills Skill in negotiating issues and resolving problems. Proficient in the use of end-user computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), EMR, etc. Must possess high degree of professionalism and adaptability. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Advanced Degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required. Two-year minimum Insurance Collections experience in directly related role or other healthcare related role with transferrable skills. #LI-LK1 #LI-REMOTE
