Job Details Job Location : Lakeshore Office - Detroit, MI
Salary Range : Undisclosed Description Scope: Responsible for assisting in the facilitation of human resource activities including: full cycle employee recruitment, hiring, orientation, and maintenance necessary to maximize the employee life cycle and strategic objectives of the agency. Essential Functions Provides overall administrative support to the Human Resource (HR) department, including maintaining, processing and filing documentation and records and entering into the HRIS system. Post vacant positions to inform candidates of employment openings, consideration and selection. Evaluate recruitment and selection criteria to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory laws. Utilize the Criminal Justice Information Center of the Michigan State Police. This service (ICHAT) is used for on-line access to criminal conviction records where required by program funding sources and other required screenings. Arrange for pre-placement physicals and TB testing in accordance with program funding requirements. Monitor and track various eligibility data and staff requirements including background checks, certifications, health appraisals, training, etc. Participate in special projects. Assist with the execution of new hire orientation and final onboarding. Adheres to strict standards or confidentiality and maintains a high level of integrity for the HR department and agency. Assist with audits and monitoring. Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others. Perform work in a professional manner that upholds Wayne Metro's policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Physical Requirements and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a professional office environment with a moderate noise level. This is largely a sedentary role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, frequently use hands and to talk or hear. Some work is performed inside and/or outside of the assigned office. The employee is frequently required to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. May be exposed to a variety of weather conditions and outdoor elements. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree OR a minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent. Minimum Competencies: Working knowledge of basic internet applications and programs including Google technology and Microsoft Office Word and Excel. The ability to learn and utilize the necessary programs for this position. Tech savvy. Results oriented, while ensuring attention to detail, data entry, efficiency, and accuracy. Ability to communicate thoroughly/effectively both orally and in written form. Creative problem solver. Able to balance multiple tasks. Good interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability. Ability to provide services for those persons facing economic, social, health, age, and educational barriers. Ability to work independently or in a team environment (as deemed necessary). Perform work in a manner that upholds Wayne Metro's values, policies & procedures. Licensing and Other Requirements: Valid state identification and reliable transportation. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to various Wayne Metro sites, within the state of Michigan Work Hours: Work to be scheduled Monday through Friday with specific hours to be determined based on departmental needs.
