Human Resources Project Assistant Location Bridgeport, CT (Downtown area) : JobID: 3677 Position Type: Administration Date Posted: 2/28/2024 Location: City Hall Date Available: To be determined Closing Date: Open till filled ******** SCHOOL YEAR Bridgeport Public Schools Human Resources Department 45 Lyon Terrace, Room 310 Bridgeport, CT 06604 ADMINISTRATIVE JOB OPENING HUMAN RESOURCES PROJECT ASSISTANT SALARY RANGE: $85,000 to $95,000 UNAFFILIATED - 12 MONTH POSITION General Statement of Duties: The Human Resources Project Assistant will help plan and coordinate projects, take on administrative duties and independently manage some of the necessary elements to ensure projects are completed on time as directed by the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Bridgeport Public Schools Board of Education. Projects for the Chief Human Resources Officer will focus on improving efficiency and accuracy in the Human Resources and Payroll/Benefits offices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create timelines, milestones, and deliverables to contribute to effective project planning for the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Follow up on the progress of action items and other tasks and report to the Chief Human Resources Officer. Complete any tasks assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer in an efficient and timely manner. Assist the Deputy Officer of Human Resources with the supervision of the Payroll/Benefits team members to ensure they are completing their tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Assist the Human Resources team to ensure that they are meeting milestones. Update and organize project files and progress reports. Use available project management software. Learn and assess all software platforms used by the Bridgeport Public Schools Board of Education. Assist in risk mitigation, identification, tracking, management, and resolution. Schedule meetings, conference calls, and project-related events with Human Resources team members and collaborating departments. Assist in the preparation of project presentations and reports for the Superintendent on behalf of the Chief Human Resources Officer. Conduct research and gathering data to support project initiatives and encourage good decision-making practices. Facilitate communication among team members and liaising with the Chief Human Resources Officer. Provide administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer as needed. Manage multiple calendars as needed. Create and manage contact list of frequent collaborators and stakeholders. Maintain Human Resources Microsoft Teams and create forms, lists and calendars as needed. Seek opportunities for process improvements and making recommendations. Write and distribute project-related messages and status updates. Collaborate with various Bridgeport Public School Board of Education staff that include a diverse range of personalities and skills. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience: Proven work experience as a project assistant or similar role. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Suite and project management software. Highly organized and able to multitask and oversee several projects simultaneously. Strong data analysis skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A high school diploma or equivalent. Relevant training, experience and/or certification as a project assistant.
