We are seeking a Remote HR Generalist to enhance our Human Resources department and contribute to the growth and efficiency of our operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining our company culture and standards by facilitating a wide range of HR functions, primarily from their home office, with required weekly travel to our retail locations throughout the Chicago region.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement orientation programs for new hires and recognition initiatives for existing employees.
Manage updates and communications related to the employee handbook and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Oversee compliance with mandatory training programs, including safety, anti-harassment, and professional certifications, ensuring records are up-to-date and documented.
Support recruitment efforts by working closely with management to understand role requirements, screen candidates, and facilitate the hiring process.
Coordinate the performance review cycle efficiently and within scheduled timelines.
Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigative procedures as necessary.
Organize and support various company events, such as meetings, recognition events, and holiday parties, enhancing employee engagement.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, continuously reviewing and updating practices to meet best practices.
Provide HR metrics to aid in decision-making and strategy planning.
Handle additional HR-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with HRIS systems.
Excellent organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively.
High level of professionalism and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations.
Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year of relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 3+ years of experience in HR.
Requirements:
Minimum age of 21 years.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain physical mobility required for the position.
Must successfully pass a federal background check.
Regular travel to various company retail locations in the Chicago area is necessary.
