To assist with the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR Associate carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: staffing, recruitment, verifying and maintaining personnel related documentation, performance evaluations, classifications, employee leaves of absence, processing via HRIS, benefits, compensation, training and development, and all other employment-related needs of the Department of Psychiatry. Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides expertise and guidance to all Department staff regarding human resources issues, including but not limited to hiring, termination, payroll, benefits, searches, etc. Upholds policy and procedure related to Human Resource operations in accordance with campus, university, and state guidelines. Coordinates the electronic processing of faculty, academic, civil service, extra help, non-salaried, and hourly appointments. Navigates the HR/Payroll Module in Banner, HRFE, Nessie, ANA, Workflow, Hire Touch and the various forms required to process new hires, employee group changes, terminate appointments, initiate pay adjustments, pay stops, change funding sources, resignations, and retirements. Works with the Offices of Access & Equity, Campus, and Payroll to execute appointment processing. Serves as the department's credentialing liaison with the Medical Staff Office and WWT. Maintains departmental personnel databases. Produces and/or contributes to college and university reports, including sick/vacation usage reports. Coordinates with the Department's financial and grants staff concerning salary allocations and funding verification, tuition remission, fringe benefits, and fellowship budgets. Minimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties. Preferred Qualifications:
