Summary: This role involves managing HR policies, programs, and practices and supporting policy development for the HR department.
Duties/Responsibilities: Partner with employees and management to communicate various human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations. Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.Coach, counsel, and guide managers before the execution of disciplinary actions. Draft disciplinary documentation and manage and track all disciplinary actions. Recruiting efforts for all vacant positions within the company. Schedules and interviews applicants and monitors the onboarding process (offer letters, background checks, drug testing, orientation, etc.). Monitors termination process for employees, including exit interviews.Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; analyzes compensation; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Develops, prepares, and distributes information regarding benefit programs such as life, health, dental, post-tax benefits, credit union, and 401 (k); coordinates and reviews existing plans; recommends, implements, and communicates plan changes and enhancements. It also assists in claims resolution and change reporting. Works with the accounting department on invoicing. Executes the yearly open enrollment process with vendors. Monitor and file workers' compensation insurance claims; maintain OSHA log; maintain the driver's list for automobile insurance.Maintains personnel files, researches and responds to employee inquiries, and sets deductions and salary adjustments. Maintenance of HCM, Paylocity. Partners with Accounting on 401(k) loan administration, mid and year-end non-discrimination testing and reporting requirements, and all other required reports.Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve the department's efficiency and services performed. Preserve ARK culture. Processes and maintains files for employee deductions, garnishments, and court orders. Partners with Accounting to ensure payroll documentation is accurate. Ensures that deductions are by applicable state and federal laws—updates accounting files for employee salary changes.Sets up and monitors training and development programs. Including Safety programs for the company. Registers employees for training and development as needed. Monitors the Performance Review process for timely monthly processing with the management team. Reviews performance evaluations and provides suggested changes to managers. Ensures that promotions/demotions are documented and recorded appropriately. Responsible for ensuring the company complies with all human resource laws, reports, processes, etc., including EEOC reports, AAP (annual), FMLA reports, etc.Supports front office coverageOther duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Must have the ability to maintain confidential information.Must have good time management skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines is essential.Must have a positive and respectful attitude and maintain good working relationships with management staff and employees. Thorough knowledge of contemporary human resources practices, the principles and practices of personnel administration, knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of personnel management, and the ability to apply and adapt practices and strategies to the unique requirements of senior management.The ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form is essential. Knowledge of current Federal and State laws governing employment is essential. Must be able to work in a high volume/fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Must demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workload.The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, critical thinker and team player with a positive attitude. A pleasant disposition and excellent interpersonal skills are a must. Education and Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, HRIS, Applicant Tracking System, Viewpoint by Vista, Internet Explorer, and various Job Posting websites.Requires high school diploma or its equivalent supplemented with education, training coursework/seminar attendance in human resources.Bachelor's degree strongly desired.Requires three years of human resources experience.Professional certification desired (SHRM-CP/SHRM-CPS/PHR/SPHR). Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.
