Responsibilities
• Provide personal care and hygiene services for patients• Teach patients basic daily living skills• Motivate and encourage patients to engage in treatment• Provide nursing care and perform routine treatments• Participate in rehabilitation activities• Oversee or participate in recreational and social programs• Observe, record and report patient behavior• Serve as a role model for less experienced workers• Escort patients to various appointments and activities• Maintain a safe and orderly environment
Requirements
• Knowledge of behavioral health concepts• Knowledge of nursing care and first-aid• Ability to provide care and hygiene• Ability to teach self-care skills• Ability to observe and report patient conditions• Basic arithmetic skills• Ability to maintain relationships with patients and coworkers• Effective communication skills• High school diploma or equivalent• 1 year of experience in healthcare facility or certification/registration as Nursing Assistant
