For additional benefit information available to State of Florida employees, go to  Responsibilities: Mowing with riding mower, tractors, and/or large mowers at Evergreen Cemetery, Newnan's Lake and Tacachale campus. Cleaning fence rows. Leveling grounds for new fence and for planting grass or plants. Ensures campus is clean and is in safe condition. Also uses bucket truck to trim limbs in high areas. Performs work with heavy equipment such as a dump truck and chipper. Ensure safety when operating equipment.
Pick up trash around campus and dispose of properly. Pick up and dispose of bio-hazardous material properly.
Preventative maintenance on equipment such as: lubricate weekly and change oil in equipment. Replace belts whenever necessary, sharpen blades weekly or exchange whenever needed. Ensures shop is clean and tools are put away correctly and safely.
Perform other related duties as required or requested by supervisor.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of inmate training rules and regulations.
Ability to use hand tools.
Ability to use lawn mowers, tractors, edger's and weed eaters.
Ability to operate a backhoe, tractor, and forklift.
Minimum Requirements: You must have a valid Florida Driver's License to apply for this position. (If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver's license within 30-days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that has "Corrective Lenses Restricted," are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
At least one (1) year experience operating lawn equipment
