StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a part time Family Support Partnerto join its outstanding First Episode Psychosis Team supporting people with mental illness at Sunrise Canyon Hospital.
Family Support/Family Partner Responsibilities:
Work is performed under general supervision of the First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Team Lead, withmoderatelatitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Plans, develops and implements education, peer mentoring and support activities (groups)for consumers and family members on issues related to child and adolescent treatment of serious emotional disturbance.
Maintains and disseminates information about resources and services for all interested parties.
Fulfills the role of a Family Partner by serving as a member of the Family Wraparound Team, teaching self-advocacy skills to children and families, and assists in engaging families in the treatment process.
Serves as a liaison for family, staff, schools and communities, provides mentoring, and informal supports.
Provides information and referral for people on an assigned caseload, identifies natural/non-traditional supports for families, and provides non-clinical skills training to families.
This position ensures all activities support the Vision, Mission and Values of StarCare Specialty Health System.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position. Flexible schedule to be discussed during interview.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must be a parent or caregiver of a child with serious emotional disturbance and have sought treatment (lived experience).
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in a related field, preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated competencies, required.
Two (2) year's full-time experience in a related field, preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.
Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, copier, fax, etc.) and personal computer with Microsoft Office products is required .
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of human service delivery systems.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to organize, prioritize a variety of assignments and manage time effectively.
Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with clients/families, other employees, and the public.
Additional Requirements:
Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
