Job Description The Executive Director of Sales is responsible for achieving revenue and operating goals for the assigned team through management of all resources. The Executive Director will work with Senior Sales Leadership to set the strategic direction for the team and oversee execution.
This role will be managing the National East Division and will include travel. Preference would be for candidate to be located in the Eastern part of US. Key Duties & Responsibilities Drive strategies to maintain and grow the sales region and key accounts: Meet and exceed the assigned revenue targets of the vertical. Ensure prospecting/new business development expectations are being met by sellers. Focus team on selling with data and insights; selling integrated/omnichannel solutions to best meet the clients initiatives. Lead and mentor the team on: selling with insights, creating a story or vision for clients that leads to proposing creative omni-channel solutions. Responsible for all overall success and associate understanding of all phases of the sales process. Participate in key account and new business meetings as needed. Effectively partner with Print and Digital Sellers, Vertical sales associates and Client Strategy (Marketing) to win and secure revenue opportunities. Understand and effectively communicate all portions of the business to all internal and external stakeholders. Ensure appropriate support departments are properly engaged and meeting the needs of the team. Manage and mentor team: Provide strategic insights and support for all Sales Associates. Mentor New Business Development, Account Managers and Sales Managers by supporting their growth, management of accounts and ability to drive new business opportunities. Ensure all associates are meeting and exceeding their revenue targets and other key performance indicators. Evaluate employee knowledge and skill gaps to ensure they are receiving any training/upskilling needed. Address performance issues in a timely and effective manner. Ensure all sales activity for associates is accurately and timely captured and updated in salesforce.com. Develop and mentor sales associates toward individual career goals. Implement processes, policies, procedures and strategic initiatives. Support new products, technology and strategies as rolled out to the sales organization. Provide e feedback to senior management on industry trends, strategies and challenges. Establish/maintain working relationships with internal personnel. Qualifications EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED (Required) Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) In lieu of the above education requirements, a combination of experience and education will be considered. EXPERIENCE 3 - 5 years C-suite experience (Required)5 - 7 years Relevant Experience (Required)5 - 7 years Leadership Experience (Required)10+ years Successful sales experience and required proficiency in: Print and/or Digital Media. Marketing, Media, Advertising space. Skilled at selling through creating a compelling vision or story. Highly effective at utilization of data and insights as a selling tool. Prospecting/new business development. Account management. Digital products. Selling multiple / integrated products (Required) KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Ability to mentor and manage sales associates to success through effective coaching Adapt to change including the market, products and internal company initiatives Consistent track record of success in achieving and exceeding annual quota and business objectives Develops trust easily Emotional (EQ) and Cognitive (IQ) Intelligence; ability to read those around you and appropriately respond intellectually and emotionally Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Exhibit expert skills in: qualification, conceptual selling, presentation delivery and negotiation Experience and working knowledge of marketing/media products and services including targeting capabilities and distribution alternatives Exude credibility (product knowledge and professionalism) Forecasting and sales reporting Highly effective at coaching associates to success Page 2 of 2 Lead by example Organized, detail-oriented and thorough approach to all responsibilities Proven leader in sales results including lead generation, solution selling and closing sales Strategic thinking Strong influencer and negotiator on key decision makers Successful demonstration of Storytelling/creating a vision when selling to a client. Ability to mentor, lead, and develop that skill for associates SOFTWARE UTILIZED Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook Video conferencing Systems for: sales forecasting, tracking revenue, contracts, etc. COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS Communication with clients and internal co-workers – all levels of management, business leadership, customers, suppliers and other internal/external entities as required Highly effective at presentations DECISION MAKING • Autonomous decision making authority • Requires broad conceptual judgment and ability to deal with complex factors Additional Information Salary: $130,000-140,000 base plus bonus/commission The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
