Summary of Job Duties:
The Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment provides leadership, direction, technical expertise, and oversight as part of the enrollment management senior leadership team at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The position is directly responsible for growing undergraduate enrollment, managing budgets and resources related to undergraduate recruitment, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the undergraduate recruitment plan at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.


The Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment offers innovative strategies and thoughtful decision-making processes that will increase applications, improve yield, and, ultimately, increase enrollment for the university. This position is a hands-on, supervisory role for the recruitment-related offices within Enrollment Management. The fundamental key performance indicator for the position is enrollment-focused, increasing applications, admittances, and, ultimately, undergraduate enrollment. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree; A strong understanding of how to use data and technology to supplement recruitment strategies; Demonstrated higher education recruitment record that shows progressive thought and strategies; Three plus years of experience in higher education, working in admissions/recruitment or a closely related field; Experience in developing new student enrollment goals. Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Master's degree; and Experience supervising or leading units. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the recruitment-related staff, including the Director of the Trojan Transition and Assistance Center (TTAC), the Undergraduate Recruitment Manager, the Director of International Student Services, the Director of Military Student Success, the Admissions Communications and Events Manager, the Corporate Partnership Coordinator, and others as required; Serve as the first point of contact representative for UA Little Rock; Serve as a spokesperson for Enrollment Management and as a representative for the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, as requested; Demonstrate strong communication skills to counsel individuals on university admission standards and appropriate preparation for collegiate success; Utilize advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Provide dynamic, targeted recruitment/admission presentations to the campus and community; Exercise leadership on institutional admission policies and procedures; Contribute to the team-oriented environment within the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, across the Enrollment Management portfolio, and the Division of Student Affairs to provide world-class customer service. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possess superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; Experience in advanced recruitment technology and applications (CRM, student information systems, etc.); Ability to work together with teams serving a diverse student population; Must be self-motivated, creative, customer-service-focused, and detail-oriented; Evidence of a strong record of successful recruitment and admissions in a university setting; Knowledge of policies and regulations of recruitment and admissions in higher education; Evidence of a strong record of ability to use technology and data to inform decision-making; Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment; Strong analytical ability with superior organizational skills; Interpersonal and relationship-building skills; Possess a good sense of humor; Contemporary thought and progressiveness; Ability to operate a motor vehicle; Ability and a willingness to work flexible hours in a highly fluid environment.
