Job Description:

The Executive Director (ED) of AZCares ACO provides leadership, direction and oversight of network operations for a value-based provider network. This includes coordination across clinical operations, quality, reporting, information systems, finance, legal, and contracting teams. The ED serves as lead facilitator, in partnership with the provider network, in value-based care development to ensure effective implementation, compliance, and contractual arrangements. The ED is accountable for monitoring and achieving the goals and objectives established by the AZCares ACO Board of Directors and in ensuring compliance with federal, state and accrediting body guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities :

Provides executive leadership, strategic vision and focus for the provider network by ensuring the mission and core values of the organization are clearly communicated, implemented and incorporated into daily operational and clinical processes and procedures.

Establishes a Provider Advisory Committee consisting of staff from participating providers within the network and facilitates monthly meetings regarding the management and implementation of the Company's value-based contracts through its network of providers.

Establishes credibility with the provider network, the Board of Directors, health plan regulators and community stakeholders as an effective developer of solutions to healthcare and service delivery challenges.

Establishes and fosters trusting strategic partnerships in order to ensure the delivery of timely and clinically appropriate services.

Drives the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies, to include a focus on financial health, operational excellence, quality and long-term sustainability.

Works effectively with the Board of Directors to establish organizational goals, policies and procedures.

Responsible for the development and implementation of the budget and in meeting financial goals, through the utilization of resources provided by the founding partners.

Oversees all communication and marketing activities, utilizing resources provided by founding partners.

Oversees the negotiation and establishment of contracts with health plans and other partners.

Oversees the development and implementation of change management initiatives, policies, procedures, and workflows in value-based care, to include health outcomes, quality gap closure, risk gap closures, reduction in total cost of care, health disparities, social determinants of health, and care management and disease management programs.

Manages the partnership with the data analytics vendor to ensure the development of operational dashboards, reports, and clinical protocols/workflows to assist the organization in meeting contractual and clinical goals.

Provides strong leadership and supervision to other teammates with an intense focus on their growth and development.

Manages work and initiatives of ACO staff.

Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree, with a preference for an advance graduate degree or certification in, business administration, health services administration, nursing, or related field indicative of a strong knowledge of business and/or healthcare administration.

A minimum 5 years in progressive leadership experience within a multidimensional community-based healthcare service environment.

Knowledge of the current healthcare landscape which includes population health, care gaps, social determinants of health, health inequities and innovative service delivery models.

Strong financial and business acumen.

Ability to effectively communicate and implement the organization's mission, vision, strategy, goals, and objectives.

Ability to collaborate across functional teams and with all levels of the network, to include outside physicians and potential business partners; ability to build strong collaborative relationships and partnerships.

Ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity and autonomy; flexibility and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing and evolving work environment.

An analytical thinker with a proven aptitude in leading initiatives in change management and care transformation processes.

Ability to ensure the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, laws, and regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to communicate complex information to the provider network, community stakeholders, Board of Directors and local and state leaders in a clear, concise and persuasive manner.
