Heavy Civil EstimatorGPAC is currently looking for a full-time Estimator to help assist site development and utility construction projects. This position is a long-term opportunity and the purpose of the Estimator is to work with the project teams and scope and prepare portions of estimates including the determination of applicable project plans and specifications.***Must be willing to relocate to Arizona!***Scopes of work will include but are not limited to; excavation, underground wet utilities or water mains, grading, asphalt paving, & concrete - roadway construction.Responsibilities:Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimateAttend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offsPrepare estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of workMaintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, software uploads, etc.Support other department personnel as required; may include assisting with estimates in other disciplinesMay review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and/or availability of materialsInterface with clients on bid-walksMay provide support to field operations regarding estimatesPerform additional assignments per supervisor's directionRequirements:2+ years' experience with a Civil Roadway or Site Development Construction Contractor2+ years of construction estimating specific to the above scope of workWorking knowledge of Civil Construction procedures and processesAbility to interpret computerized cost data and systemsAbility to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlinesAbility to navigate computers, technology and estimating software.Please send your resume to for further consideration or a confidential conversation.All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990.
