Environmental Supervisor Location Lawrenceburg, IN : Position Summary Environmental Supervisor serves as the subject matter expert and is responsible for maintaining environmental compliance, promoting sustainability, and safeguarding natural resources within the organization. Plays a vital role in creating a healthier and more environmentally conscious workplace.
Role & Responsibilities Oversees the implementation and maintenance of the organization's environmental management system to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations. Develops and implements strategies for pollution control, waste management, and resource conservation to minimize environmental impact. Designs and organizes water quality reclassification studies. Completes incident investigations. Manages self-inspection programs. Ensures compliance with environmental policies. Leads environmental impact assessments and audits. Develops and maintaining department expense budgets. Conducts field audits to ensure activities/conditions are consistent with company policies/procedures. Environmental Compliance: · Ensures that the organization complies with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
· Monitors and reports on environmental performance metrics.
· Implements corrective actions when violations occur.
Waste Management: · Develops waste management strategies to minimize environmental impact.
· Coordinates waste disposal, recycling, and hazardous material handling.
· Ensures proper labelling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste.
Pollution Control: · Implements pollution control measures to prevent or reduce air, water, and soil pollution.
· Collaborates with relevant departments to address pollution sources.
Resource Conservation: · Promotes sustainable practices to conserve natural resources (e.g., water, energy).
· Identifies opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Environmental Audits and Inspections: · Conducts regular environmental audits and inspections.
· Identifies areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
Training and Education: · Provides training to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
· Raises awareness about environmental issues within the organization.
Emergency Response: · Develops emergency response plans for environmental incidents (e.g., spills, leaks).
· Coordinates emergency drills and ensuring staff readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement: · Collaborates with regulatory agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders.
· Addresses environmental concerns raised by external parties.
Data Collection and Reporting: · Collects and analyzing environmental data (e.g., air quality, water quality).
· Prepares reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Budget Management: · Manages the environmental department's budget.
· Allocates resources effectively to meet environmental goals.

Business Acumen-- Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; Aligns work with strategic goals. Knowledge and Experience Licensing or Certifications: Possession of or ability to obtain certifications such as ISO, OSHA, EHS, CPR, EPA, GFSI, or NEBOSH. Bachelor's or University Degree in Engineering, Health, Science, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Environmental Science are preferred. High school or equivalent required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting, including participation in environmental processes, auditing, and compliance. Knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, and local environmental laws, and regulations required. Knowledge of IDEM a plus Job Type: Full-time
