Electrical Designer - Mid Level - 5+ Years (Hybrid)

Job Description:Summary:The person in this position will work with project teams to provide computer-aided drafting expertise using AutoCAD software. Typical duties may include data collection, planning, and problem-solving in the electrical engineering field. Responsibilities include drafting and design using CADD software. Project work will involve electrical power and control system design, equipment coordination, lighting products and systems, and electrical distribution.Minimum Qualifications:Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described aboveFamiliarity with lighting products and systemsStrong understanding and design capabilities of electrical distribution systems 600V and lower5+ years of relevant experienceProficiency using current versions of AutoCAD, Excel, and WordFamiliarity with electrical power and control symbolsStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsAbility and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiativeA flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedules when required to meet deadlines and client needsVa lid driver's license and acceptable driving recordL egal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications:Experience with project management and client managementExperience with power system modeling software such as SKMFamiliarity with construction managementExperience with conceptual designDesign experience with pipeline, utility, or renewable projectsA hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Duluth , Minnesota, office.NOTE: The position may involve field visits to client sites, including industrial processing facilities, power plants, renewable facilities, and other heavy industrial facilities.
