Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to independently develop, design and conduct complex experimental imaging methodologies focused on the detection and treatment of mucociliary clearance in the airways of human subjects. This position will serve as Director of the CEMALB MCC core which includes independently formulating research protocols to examine mucociliary clearance, as well as training CEMALB members on the imaging equipment/capabilities and performing specialized maintenance on the imaging equipment. Further responsibilities include writing and reviewing research grants and cross-collaboration with investigators from other departments; troubleshooting experimental protocols, analyzing data from these experiments and preparing the data for presentation and publication; manuscript preparation and review including presenting scientific findings at regional and international meetings.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Master's degree in related field and at least five years relevant experience with mucociliary clearance and allergy and immunology research preferred. Experience in Higher Education of University setting highly desired. The individual must also have strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work on multiple projects.
