Position Title: Director of Career and Technology Education

Approved By: Dr. Angela Cooper, CHRO Date: May 10, 2024 SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Director of the Innovation Center in the administration of the total school program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Serves as the administrative head of the school in the absence of the Director of the Innovation CenterAdministers a program of student discipline.Assists with staff evaluation.Manages building staff, including class schedules and building problems.Serves and supports CTE Instructors with technical and mechanical issues.Collects and records data regarding CTE concentrators, completers, and certifications.Collects and records CTE 10 Month Follow-up.Participates in local and state conferences relative to CTE.Develops and implements district-wide CTE Federal Perkins Grant Local Plan and all data associated with the grant to stay compliant.Maintains inventory of current equipment and disposition of outdated equipment.Supervises staff attendance and assignment of substitute teachers.Assists in scheduling and supervising special events during and after the school dayAssists with coordinating the development of the master teaching schedule.Provides general supervision to students. Supervises extra-curricular activities.Maintains relationships with students, parents, and community members.All other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises over 40 employees in the Innovation Center when the Director of the Innovation Center is absent from the building. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree in Education, minimum 5 years teaching and/or administrative experience. Administrative Certification with a strong CATE background. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
A valid Teaching Certificate and secondary Principalship certification are required. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from community, regulatory agencies, or members of staff.
M ATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
